Some interesting recent Canadian UFO cases
During the month of November, I have received and gathered a significant number of Canadian UFO reports, although as I've stated often in this blog, the number of reports this year is down from last year. It remains to be seen how much difference there will be.
However, I have sifted through the batch and will summarize some of the more interesting ones here:
November 3, 2011 7:30 pm Scarborough Bluffs, ON
This one is interesting simply because it's so typical of the reports that come in. Low in content and quality, yet it's possible to suggest an explanation anyway. "It's been coming and going all night. East of the Scarborough Bluffs over the water. Due east. Sometime ones. Sometimes two. Sometimes three. They just sit there, then disappear, then reappear." Due east from Scarborough Bluffs is the entire length of Lake Ontario. The atmospheric refraction is intense, so I'd say boats. Or if we're talking slightly elevated, then perhaps stars. (Vike)

White, blimp-like object with bands or rings around the centre, which seemed "elevated slightly from the surface." The object was thought to be at about 5,000 ft altitude. Originally, the witness thought it was a Porter Airlines Bombardier aircraft, but decided that the object did not show the correct markings or wings. (MUFON)

Starlike object seen and photographed often through the course of a year. "I thought it was a star but noticed it changes colours." NB: that's what stars do when they twinkle. "It would stay out for two and a half hours." NB: that's what stars do. The witness didn't provide any directions or altitude, so we can't determine which star or planet is the culprit. Nice jiggled trail photo of starlike UFO, though. (MUFON)

V-shaped formation of dim amber lights flew overhead in a straight line west to east. Transited in about seven seconds. Estimated altitude 1000 feet and completely silent. (MUFON)

two witnesses watched a red object moving across the sky. No dunning lights or blinking lights were visible, unlike an airplane which was also in the sky at the same time. The UFO was seen for 10 minutes, occasionally "correcting" its flight path before it suddenly vanished. (Vike)

Another V-shaped set of lights. These ones were blinking and moving below cloud cover, estimated to be about 1500 feet in altitude. They were seen for about 10 minutes. When they disappeared, flashes of coloured lights could be seen intermittently in the area. They were thought not to be fireworks, and not in the direction of any casinos. (UFOINFO)

Red light appeared over treeline, due east. No sound. Vanished below treeline. Thought not to be plane, since no planes usually fly in the area that late at night. (MUFON)

Delving into my backlog of recent Canadian UFO reports, I present the following sampling of gems and dross:

Witness pulled out of his driveway and saw a 'monster' red light in the northwest. It disappeared in a few seconds but then saw a second object, rectangular, with blue-white lights "all over" it. (UFO Casebook)
March 18, 2011 Rat Portage First Nation, ON
Witnesses saw a "red light in the bush" that was making a "loud beeping noise." (UFO blog)
March 25, 2011 8:00 pm Chateauguay, PQ
Three witnesses saw a "rocket-like" object, white in colour with a black stripe and "red nose cone," going "straight up." A second object soon followed. (Sightings.com)
March 29, 2011 Halifax, NS
A stationary light was filmed over the city. "Just hovers in one spot and then is gone in the blink of an eye." (Youtube)
March 30, 2011 Fort Frances, ON
Several people across northwestern Ontario saw a UFO low in the night sky for at least a half hour. A photo was taken, showing a trail of light. (Media)

Two witnesses looked over the ocean and saw "three sets of twinned 'projectiles' shoot out from the ocean into invisibility in the sky." (Sightings.com)
April 2, 2011 6:30 am Markham, ON
Witness saw and photographed two sets of flashing "Christmas" lights arranged vertically. The lights faded in a matter of seconds. [I hope someone in Ontario was contacted and investigated this on site.] (Sightings.com)

Witness saw a large "triangular airplane," without lights, grey in colour and seemingly solid. It moved across the horizon for 1 minute, making no noise. (UFOROM)

A farmer was checking his cows when he saw a "train in the sky." There were 2 long "damn bright" white lights hanging in eastern sky that became longer; smaller lights appeared at their front. Went out slowly in 90 secs. (UFOROM)
April 9, 2011 12;00 noon Brantford, ON
Unmarked, black helicopter circled area, then "two metallic orbs" were seen "dancing, swirling" in sky for 90 secs, then helicopter came back and chased them away. (NUFORC)

Upon examination later, photos of sunset showed am odd object in sky. (UFOSNW)

"12 lights side by side" appeared in sky. Within a minute they formed a stationary straight line. Disappeared one by one. (UFOBC)
April 19, 2011 Coquitlam, BC
Three glowing lights like "on fire" in sky, no sound. One hovered, one was simply "turning" and the third flew towards witnesses, then was lost behind trees. (Sightings.com)

"3 massive lights" arranged on triangular obj. that blocked out stars. Silent & stationary, then "took off" to north at high speed. (PSICAN)

May 4, 2011 3:00 pm Manitoulin Island, ON
A fisherman took some photographs, and subsequent examination of the images revealed a dank "rod" on one frame. (MUFON)
May 5, 2011 11:00 pm Campbell River, BC
Pair of blinking red lights moving over ocean, as if on a large object. Flew behind lighthouse which seemed to go dark, then became operational again as lighted object moved to distance. (UFOBC)
May 5, 2011 1:20 pm Toronto, ON
A large number of small white "orbs" in a series of groups was seen in the sky. [Identified later as skywriting.] (Youtube)
May 6, 2011 10:45 pm Sherbrooke, PQ
A "V-shaped triangle formed of lights" was seen low in sky, moving to the north, for about 5 secs. (NUFORC)
May 7, 2011 9:11 pm Toronto, ON
A person listening to shortwave airband overheard a pilot reporting a formation of UFOs to air traffic control. An independent witness reported an observation of what was likely the same objects, at 9:30 pm. (NUFORC) and (UFOInfo)

A "large black stealth shape" with three orange "lanterns" rose up from tree line and flew together, then the 3 lights separated. Dark object also described as "black vampire cape with glowing lantern by the knees." (UFOInfo)
