Canadian UFO reports post-10/17, 2018
It’s October 19th, and I’ve already been asked
the question: “Have Canadians started seeing and reporting more UFOs, since
marijuana began being legally available on Wednesday, October 17, 2018?”
Well, no.
On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at about 1:00 am, a
witness in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (a suburb of Montreal) was awakened by a
loud noise. The sound was like that of a drum beating, lasting a few seconds.
The witness got out of bed and went to the window, where a blue light lit up
the sky as the sound was heard again. When the noise stopped, the light went
out.
Meanwhile, about the same time, in Lavaltrie, Quebec, about 25 kilometres north,
another witness reported hearing a similar noise like thunder, starting at
about 12:15 am, and lasting intermittently until about 3:00 am. However, no
light or UFO was seen in this case.
And while it occurred before midnight, at 9:06 pm on
October 16, 2018, in Lethbridge, Alberta, a UFO was reported by two witnesses
walking home from work. They saw several red lights aligned in the sky, hanging motionless.
The lights started slowly moving together as a group, stopped in midair, then
vanished suddenly. A photo was taken, but was not submitted.
(But since 9:06 pm Lethbridge time is 11:06 pm Montreal time and after midnight on October 17th in Eastern Canada, perhaps we
can count this case in the mix anyway.)
Since statistically we know that about 1,000 sightings
get reported in Canada each year, we are hanging in at about our yearly
average. No more, and not substantially less.
In fact, since witnesses tend to report sightings several
days or weeks after the fact, it’s far too early to say if there will be a “pot
effect.”
But stay tuned.
And this is why:
I just received another report.
I don’t know if I’d call what I saw a UFO, but it was a bright light in the sky. I was lying in bed with my eyes closed when a bright light startled me. I sat up thinking it was my husband’s iPhone screen turning on with an alert, but the light was brighter than that. I saw out the window an intense white light to the south of our house. I only got a glimpse of it before it was gone. I assumed it was a meteor. I think it was just two nights ago, probably around 23:00 ADT. (October 17, 2018), south of Montague, PEI.
So three reports post-17/10, so far, as of October 19, 2018.
